Are You Worried?


Are you anxious today? Are you feeling overwhelmed? Write down all the causes for your anxiousness on a small piece of paper. Then pray, giving each anxiety trigger to God. As you finish, put the paper in a small cooking pan and take a match to it. As you watch it burn, imagine God consuming your fears and worries and turning them to ash. Then ponder these words from Scripture:


"Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." - Philippians 4:6-7 MSG
