HOW WE SEE

AntoineGlassesParis_edited.jpg

At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus announced:

"The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near."
- Mark 1:15

Then, in the midst of His ministry, He looked at the people around Him and saw something His disciples struggled to see:

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”
- Matthew 9:37

Those two realities are at the heart of what we call Harvest Forward.

The Kingdom is near.

The harvest is plentiful.

What might we uncover if we learned to look for both at the same time?

NEW DIMENSION

TWO LENSES

Harvest Forward looks through two lenses: KINGDOM + HARVEST

The Kingdom lens begins with Jesus' announcement that the Kingdom has come near. It asks:

If the Kingdom is near, where is Jesus already at work?

The Harvest lens begins with Jesus' observation that the harvest is plentiful. It asks:

If the Harvest is plentiful, what is already happening around us?

We look through both lenses simultaneously. We pay attention to what is happening in people’s lives and notice where Jesus is already present. In doing so, we begin to uncover the Kingdom in the harvest, in places we might have missed before.

THERE IS NO ROAD MAP

Your harvest is different, and your context is different. Whatever Kingdom expression emerges from your adventure of uncovery will take its own shape.

UNCOVERY

When we start with Jesus in the harvest, we don’t always know where we're going.

That’s the point.

Harvest Forward isn’t about arriving with the answer. It’s about uncovering what is already there.

That means challenging assumptions, questioning familiar methods, and clearing away the clutter that keeps us from recognizing it.

That’s why we call it Uncovery.

COULD YOU USE
90 MINUTES OF UNCOVERY?

Sometimes it helps to have someone else looking through the lenses with you.
