Surf's Up!

Following the Holy Spirit is like surfing.

Each wave is different (some are fun and some are dangerous). The more time you spend on the waves, the easier it becomes to know what the waves are doing. Timing is everything (not too soon; not too late). There's a lot of waiting involved, but the anticipation keeps you focused. You sense oneness with the wave when you are riding it. It requires the use of your body, mind, and emotions. You learn to constantly adapt as the wave shifts. You realize that you’re not the one in control. Each wave creates more excitement for the next one. It's better to be riding the waves than standing on the beach watching.
